The best advice is to thoroughly research any new home improvement project that seems like it should be easy before committing. They are the ones that will sneak up on you! Start by asking these three questions:
Is it worth your time and the mess?
Sometimes the true cost of a home improvement projects lies in the time it takes to complete and the disruption they cause. For example, remodeling a kitchen in your spare time could take weeks and would disrupt daily living the entire time.
Other projects such as painting guest rooms or updating landscaping are better options for a homeowner with limited time.
Do you have the skills and tools?
Tiling a shower can be tricky and requires specialized tools (which can be rented), but if you mess it up, you’ll have to pay to have your failure removed and the job done right. Meanwhile, laying luxury vinyl plank floors is fairly straightforward.

Is it safe?
